2. What is the difference between Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peel?
They are both exfoliating treatments. Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation that uses a stream of crystals particles and suction. While the chemical peel evolves using a mild acid solution in order to exfoliate your skin’s upper layers. They are used to fade dark marks or blemishes, even skin tone, smooth the rough texture of the skin, lessen wrinkling, improve acne and razor bumps, exfoliate clogged pores, and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and smooth depressed scars. They are typically performed on the face, but are also appropriate for any area of the body that may need help in diminishing these imperfections.
3. What are the possible causes of Hyperpigmentation and how can I treat it?
Heredity factors, hormonal influence and stress. There are many ways to treat hyperpigmentation. Exfoliating treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and skincare products that contain alpha-hydroxy acids that help cast off accumulated dead skin cells are excellent ways to fade hyperpigmentation. 4. What causes Acne Breakouts?
Acne is a condition caused by blockage of the hair follicles (tiny pores that cover the face) and over activity of oil glands called sebaceous glands many factors contribute to the development of acne. Two of the most important are the balance in the levels of hormones(which is why acne does not appear until puberty and the activity of a special kind of bacteria that live on areas of the body where acne occurs. The hormones also increase the production of oil(sebum). Because the opening to the follicle is blocked, the oil builds up inside the follicle, forming a PIMPLE! Bacteria in the follicle help to stimulate inflammation, which can make the pimples larger, redder or darker and sometimes painful. Age Intervention Duality is one of my top recommendation for acne breakouts.
5. I have really sensitive skin, I seem to get redness or rashes from many of the products I use, What can I do?
This might be an allergic reaction from skincare products or compromised skin barrier. The two most common causes of reactions are fragrances and colorants. Even though a wonderful smelling product may trick you into thinking that it is somehow better for you, it is best to use products without fragrances, especially artificial fragrances and colorants. This is your first line of defense.
6. How does microchanneling improve acne scar and aging skin?
Microchanelling aka Collagen Inducing Therapy, creates microchannels to the skin top layer enhancing the absorption of product ingredients. It stimulates collagen production triggering the body’s wound healing processes to heal the micro channels immediately. The purpose of this treatment is to generate new collagen, improve skin smoothness and firmness. It may also improve the appearance of pore size. I often use it in combination with other technologies to have the best possible improvement in things like acne scars and other skin concerns.
7. What is LED Light Therapy?
The same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into energy, high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural bio stimulatory effect in human tissue. Research has shown that “light therapy can increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone, texture and clarity, and decrease under eye wrinkles.”
